Just finished The Returning by Ann Tatlock, chosen from New Books in library because of the Christian Fiction label. Take an alcholic husband returning from 5 yrs in prison for vehicular manslaught, toss in a Down Syndrome older son, and a daughter who was 1 when he left. Mix in rebellious teenage daughter, and you have a thought-provoking and realistic picure of a new Christian succumbing to temptation. Would love to read Cranberry Hearts.

Take an alcoholic father coming home after 5 yrs in prison, add a Downs syndrome son, a rebellious teenage daughter and a 6-yr-old who doesn't know him at all. Mix well, and there's an almost uncomfortable reality as these people try to get on the right track as a family and experience some failures along the way. Thanks, Donna Thornhill
